Attended support happens while you’re at the computer: you start the session and watch. Unattended support lets a technician connect to a computer you’ve approved in advance, even when you’re not sitting at it.
Attended, in a nutshell
- You request help and receive a one-time code
- You approve the connection on screen
- You can watch, chat and stop the session at any time
It’s ideal for one-off problems and for anyone who likes to see exactly what’s happening.
Unattended, in a nutshell
- A support agent is installed once, with your permission
- Maintenance can happen after hours
- You can uninstall it whenever you want
It’s handy for keeping a small team’s computers updated without interrupting anyone’s day.
Which one should I pick?
If you just need something fixed, attended is simplest. If you want ongoing care for several machines, unattended saves everyone time. Plenty of people use both.
